Transformation: inside and out

This journey wasn't about just shrinking my body, though that is a huge part of it.

It's about shedding the weights trauma has put on me throughout my life. Visible and invisible.

If you’ve tried everything, like I did, diets, programs, prayer, willpower—and still feel stuck in a body that doesn’t respond the way it “should,” you’re not broken. And you're not alone!

Trauma changes our bodies. Stress changes our hormones. Survival adds weight. The weight we see on the scale and in the mirror, and the weight we carry that is invisble.

What you’ll see on this page is what happened when I stopped treating weight as the problem—and started addressing the root. You'll hear about how the Lord has been helping me uncover roots and anchors that have nothing to do with my food choices and more to do with much deeper issues.

From ptsd/cpstd, to fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, crippling anxiety, and morbid obesity, I've had, still have, a lot to heal from. But understanding that it's not "all my fault", has been so freeing.

Survival Body → Body Being Restored
Survival Body → Body Being Restored

What Changed:

Over 130lbs down. (still going!)

Lots of inflammation gone.

Stablized Blood Sugar

Mobility regained after being mostly bedridden

And hope restored!

I am sharing to give hope, the hope I longed for for years and couldn't find. To help others who battle obesity, food addiction, chronic pain, fibromyaglia, chronic fatigue, and more, to learn about the ways trauma leads to the suffering physically as well as mentally/emotionally. To shed light on how medications, stress, chemicals, and so much more, add to the weight and battles. To help others shed the shame that many of us carry as we battle the weight and various health conditions.

Restoration is not just science and practical though, there is a large spiritual component as well. We serve a God who cares about the ways trauma has affected our bodies as well as our hearts. And He will walk with us as we walk toward the freedom Jesus died to give us.

If you want to learn with me as I go deeper into my journey and understand more about how I've gotten this far - without some perfect forced diet plan, or shame, you'll find my story through out this blog. I hope to show that all things really are possible and explain the things I've learned to begin the healing process myself.

I am imperfect and this road has been long and bumpy, but it is worth it!

Join me? I'd love to have you!
